Grading Scale Key

Grade Abbreviation

Description

New NEW Brand new, in original box.  Includes USA warranty card and instructions.
Refurbished RB Factory refurbished.  Includes factory warranty (usually 90 days).  Usually mint condition.  Packaged same as New but may have a different box or one that is stamped "Reconditioned" or Refurbished"
Demo DEMO As packaged by the manufacturer.   Includes Manufacturers warranty card.  Never owned by a consumer but was used as demonstration equipment or is factory refurbished.  May show various stages of wear including slight dings or scratches. 
Mint MINT Perfect condition.  No marks or wear what-so-ever.
Excellent + EX+ Exceptionally nice.  May have SLIGHT marks on finish.  Glass very clean.
Excellent EX Excellent condition.  Shows minor wear.  May have small dings, slight finish wear.  Glass may have dust but no marks.
Excellent - EX- Great shape.  Shows light to medium wear.  Dings or scratches more apparent.  Glass may have dust but no scratches.
Fair FAIR Good working condition.  Shows medium to moderate wear.  May have dents, dings and brassing from finish loss.   Glass may have marks that do not effect picture quality.
Ugly UG Very rough looking.  Fully functional.  Multiple dents, dings or heavy scratching.   Excessive finish loss and/or brassing.  Glass has marks or scratches.  Possibility of slight fungus or hazing that may or may not affect picture quality.
Butt Ugly BU As  bad as it gets.  May or may not be fully functional.  Severe finish damage.  May have been used for self defense.  Glass will have significant defects which will substantially affect performance. 
Paper Weight PW Completely nonfunctional.  May have been dropped to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.  Glass is likely pulverized to a fine powder which may or may not be included with the equipment.
